Rwanda to Assist Guinea in Digitizing Public Procurement System

Rwanda and Guinea have signed an agreement to digitize Guinea’s public procurement system, announced on November 24 by Rwanda’s Embassy in Guinea. This collaboration leverages Rwanda’s expertise in digital public finance management.

Patricie Uwase, CEO of Rwanda Cooperation Initiative (RCI), emphasized Rwanda’s experience in digitizing procurement and finance, which will be shared with Guinea. RCI, founded in 2018, promotes development through South-South cooperation.

The agreement formalizes Guinea’s e-public procurement project. It was discussed during a meeting between Rwanda Cooperation Initiative and Guinea’s Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah on November 20.

Guinea is committed to improving transparency and efficiency in procurement, aligning with President Mamadi Doumbouya’s vision of using technology for governance and development.

With Rwanda’s support, Guinea plans to launch the first module of its e-procurement platform by January 2025. Training workshops are underway to prepare for this digital transformation. Rwanda’s e-GP system, launched in 2018, serves as a model for reducing corruption and enhancing transparency.
