The intensity of combat training of air defense and missile defense units has increased manifold, in 2022 a thousand times more anti-aircraft guided missiles were used than in 2021, Lieutenant General Andrey Demin, commander of the air defense and missile defense forces, deputy commander-in-chief of the airborne forces, told reporters.
“Over the past year, the intensity of combat training of air defense and missile defense units during a special military operation has increased manifold. Thus, during 2022, a thousand times more anti-aircraft guided missiles were used than at combat training events in 2021,” Demin said.According to him, this directly affects the level of preparedness of specialists and the coherence of air defense combat crews, which “grow every day.
“The Day of the Air Defense Forces is a memorable day in the Armed Forces
of the Russian Federation and is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of April. In 2023, that day falls on April 9th.
