Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that Kiev will launch a counteroffensive when it is fully ready for it, noting that the Ukrainian side does not feel any pressure from Western countries on the timing of the counteroffensive.
“We do not feel pressure from our friends and partners regarding the start of the offensive. All our friends and partners clearly understand that in order to go on the counteroffensive, you need to be one hundred percent and even more ready for it,” the head of the Ukrainian government said in an interview with The Hill newspaper, noting that the counteroffensive could begin in the summer .
Shmyhal noted that for such readiness, Ukraine needs additional assistance, pointing out the need for more artillery and ammunition, as well as medium and long-range missiles. “We need tanks and we need fighter jets,” he added.
Recall that earlier the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of the country, Alexei Danilov, said that Kiev would decide to launch a counteroffensive at the very last moment, noting that the number of people aware of the plans is extremely limited .
