Yara International ASA, a global leader in plant nutrition headquartered in Oslo, Norway, announced its withdrawal from Cameroon following a deal to sell its majority stake in Yara Cameroon to NJS Group, a minority shareholder and longstanding partner.
Per the deal, NJS Group takes over the 65% stake held by Yara International France in the company. The move gives the Cameroonian group full control of the company, in line with the company’s ambition to optimize its offerings for the agricultural sector, currently focused on controlled livestock development.
Yara Cameroon makes a significant contribution to the country’s agricultural productivity by importing and distributing its own NPK compounds and calcium nitrate fertilizers, ensuring high yields and high quality for food and export crops.
NJS Group is focused on agriculture and is known for over forty years for its implementation of sustainable agricultural practices supported by significant investments and efficient operations management.
The group is also present in the CEMAC zone.
Both sides have concluded an exclusive distribution agreement for premium NPK fertilizers, YaraMila, and YaraLiva Nitrabor Calcium Nitrate.
