Rwandans in Ethiopia Welcome New Ambassador

Rwandans living and working in Ethiopia, on Saturday, September 23, gathered at the Ambassador’s Residence in Addis Ababa for an interactive session to exchange on the country’s progress and the citizens’ role in its transformation journey.

The event also aimed at welcoming Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Charles Karamba, Rwanda’s new ambassador to Ethiopia.

Karamba was previously Rwanda’s envoy to Tanzania.

Speaking at the event, he commended the Rwandan community in Ethiopia for their continuous support and contribution to building Rwanda through a number of initiatives including paying mutuelle de santé for vulnerable citizens, participating in the Cana challenge for connecting more Rwandans to electricity, and supporting people impacted by natural disasters.

He urged them to maintain the momentum and always counter those who aim to destroy Rwanda’s progress.The head of the Rwandan community Ethiopia, Richard Hakizimana, thanked the ambassador in the name of the community for his hospitality and for the embassy’s support.

He assured him of the Rwandan community’s unwavering commitment to work towards the betterment of Rwanda and always upholding Rwanda’s interests in everything they do.
